Jerusalem Pics

Here are some pics from the recent trip to Jerusalem.  A pretty random sampling to be sure.

The First Church?
Abandoned Wreck
Jerusalem was filled with roaming cats.

This Armenian shop owner told us about how his people are being driven from Israel.  Once in history they outnumbered Jews and Muslims alike.  Now there are only a few hundred left in the city.
Steps leading down to the tomb of Mary.

At a local market, one could buy just about any food.

An old olive tree in the Garden of Gethsemane.
A Jewish Cemetery that stretched as far as the eye could see it seemed.  Looking west you see the Old City of Jerusalem.
A church and a mosque share the Old City

ShabbatStreet.jpg
Looking southeast from the Old City of Jerusalem to the Palestinian Silwan neighborhood, where the next day Israeli police destroyed an apartment building for not having the proper permits.
 More stairs!
Leaving flowers in the desert by a tombstone don't last very long.  It's tradition to leave a rock instead.
 The Armenian potter's workshop.
